■ Electric Kool-aid acid testを読みながら年表を作成した
その昔(2011年)にブログ記事に「Electric Kool-aid acid testを読みながら年表を作成しているんだけど」って書いていたけど、作ったまま放置してあった年表が見つかったので、ここに貼り付けておく。
情報のソースとしては、Wikipedia: Acid Testsなどを活用。
"Electric Kool-aid acid test"の章との対応もつけてある。これを参考にすると、"Electric Kool-aid acid test"のタイムラインがわかる。以前の記事の文章を再掲すると、1，2章はメキシコから帰ってきて拘置所に勾留中のキージーにトム・ウルフが面会するところから始まる。3章ではそこからいったん1962年までさかのぼり、そこからは時系列順に描写が進む。ラホンダでプランクスターズ結成、バストリップ、アシッドテスト、メキシコ逃亡帰国して拘留、ここまできて第1章の記述まで戻る。そして保釈、アシッドテスト卒業式となり、エピローグでキージーの服役とカサディの死去とが触れられる。きわめてオーソドックスな描写であって、訳者の飯田隆昭が書いているような、時系列を気にせずにコラージュのように書き連ねたようなものではない。
以前のブログ記事「サイケデリック・ミュージック成立における1966年から1967年」にも書いたように、ケン・キージーが始めたムーブメントとしては、1966年1月の「トリップ・フェスティバル」までで終わっている。このように見れば、1967年のサマー・オブ・ラブなんて、終わったシーンが「バカに見つかる」(by 有吉)という現象だということがわかる。(そういうワナビを嘲笑したのがザッパ and マザーズのの2ndに入ってる"Flower Punk") それはこの年表をを見るとよくわかる。
今ならこういう時代背景とかもわかったうえで、正確に翻訳できると思うので、だれか翻訳してほしい。「禅とオートバイ修理技術 価値の探求」みたいにハヤカワ文庫 NFに入ったらいいと思う。(同じこと以前も書いたが。)
